In my cousin's house
wine from Ribatejo
to go with codfish and broa in the oven
but the casts were from some
foreigner whatever
I thought I knew the fine flavour
which is always the same
Portuguese wines from Portuguese casts
are vigourous, hard to like
strong, weak,
always fighting with our hearts
Then, a new bottle
much much better
Than 1920
foreigners call it "brandy"
others drank whiskey and such
I love simple country side tastes
